This is a 6 week course running on Wednesday evenings.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is for participants wanting to work with ink. We will explore a variety of techniques including mark making, experimentation and wash applications.
In weeks 1-4 we will have focused sessions covering a range of technical applications. These classes will be structured and allow participants to experiment and refine their drawing skills. All source imagery will be supplied for these sessions.
In weeks 5 and 6 Participants are encouraged to work from their own source image to complete a two-week ink drawing in an application of their choice. Jess will offer feedback and ndividual guidance for the completion of this work.

Materials
*H or HB graphite pencil.
*Hard plastic eraser
*Low tack blue masking tape or washi tape (Washi tape can be found at Kmart)
*Black drawing ink
*1 x A4 Watercolour Pad- Cold Pressed (slight texture) or Hot Pressed (smooth grain) 270 or 300gsm. (I recommend- Canson Montval watercolour pad, Fabriano or Arches depending on your budget)
*A selection of 3 x soft synthetic flat and round brushes. A small fine round brush will be helpful for details and two medium brushes will be needed for blocking in larger areas. Working at A4 scale.
* A Dip Pen with nib ( eg, Mont Marte Signature Calligraphy dip pen)
* Large glass jar with lid
*3 small containers with lids
* 2 cotton rags
* Optional- A coloured drawing ink of your choice if you would like to experiment with an additional ink. I will have a couple to share.
* Optional- an eraser pencil.
* Optional a board to work on large enough to hold an A4 sheet of paper.
