Course Description
Join with Judith to get creative with your BRUSHWORK doing 2 weeks of “THE MAGIC of MARK MAKING”
You’ll learn lots of wonderful techniques; ways to use a variety of brushes in a multitude of creative effects which hopefully will inspire you with even more ideas to put you on a new; creative painting path to incorporate into your artworks!
Goodbye to tight, controlled painting and Hello to creating some loose, expressive magic with your brushes!
Week 3 begins LIGHT; LOVELY – Learning how to Paint the Light into your paintings. incorporating the Mark Making techniques you’ve learned and covering the importance of contrast and colour choices. Week 4 Create your own painting combining what you’ve learned.

This is excellent for ALL levels of experience

Course Materials
BRUSHES Bring the usual brushes you paint with & even some you don’t usually paint with, even daggy ones can be useful! If you have one or two of the soft Chinese round brush often used for watercolour please bring …….fan brushes too if you have them
Techniques can be done in either Watercolour or Acrylics so bring a selection of colours from either or even both so you have a choice.
Colours below are suggested only and your decisions of what to use will be your own choices at the end of the course

ACRYLICS: Artist quality Acrylics are best in whatever brand you prefer – acrylics can be used in a washy way for those who don’t want to buy watercolours
French Ultramarine, Pthalo Blue, Napthol Crimson, Napthol Red Light or another similar warm red, Transparent Magenta, Lemon Yellow or similar cool yellow, Yellow Deep or another similar warm yellow, Pthalo Green

WATERCOLOURS: Permanent Rose or Quinacridone Rose, Cadmium Red or Pyrrol Scarlet, French Ultramarine Blue, Pthalo Blue –sometimes Pthalo Blue is named by the Brand, eg Winsor Blue, Schminke Blue. Yellow Ochre, Hansa or Lemon Yellow, Naples Yellow Hue, Burnt Sienna

ABOUT JUDITH

Judith Kittel combines her passion for art and teaching with her heart for people. She has been teaching for 26 years and has taught art classes; workshops in Adelaide as well as throughout South Australia, Interstate; New Zealand & over the years she has had the privilege to demonstrate art and painting techniques at art shows, art groups, expos & craft fairs. Judith has won a number of awards over the years; is a  published artist, having had her profile and numerous artworks published in the Folk; Decorative Artist Magazine during her days before making a foray into Fine Art.
