This is a 6 week course, running on Wednesday evenings 7pm – 9.30pm.

About the course
Create beautiful realist drawings in coloured pastel and charcoal. This course is structured with a series of short exercises focusing on application techniques. Drawing from a variety of
subject matter we will work our way through tone, form, coloured ground use and mixing skin tones. Following these exercises, participants will have the opportunity to work on a 3-week
pastel drawing of their choice with individual feedback and guidance.
Source imagery will be supplied for the first three weeks of the course, Including still life, portrait and landscape. For week 4, participants are encouraged to bring in their own
photographic image to work from. An option can be supplied if required for the later weeks.
This course is suitable those with some drawing experience and those who have complete previous coloured pastel workshops with Jess.

Materials
– Faber Castell mini 24 soft Pastels or other soft pastels if you have them already. (please bring them in week 1 to check colours)
– Thin willow charcoal x 2 sticks
– Hard plastic eraser
– 30 cm ruler
– HB graphite pencil
– 1x sheet A4 white cartridge paper.
– 1 x sheet glassine paper * optional (to protect your drawings)
– 1 x sheet Art Spectrum colourfix Paper Original. Colour – Soft Umber
– 1 x sheet Canson Mi- Teintes – colour- Bisque
– Dust mask * optional
– Board (wooden or cardboard ) approx. A3 will be handy for transporting/ working on.More information to come.
