Our tour this month will be to Carrick Hill to see the exhibition, Adelaide Mid-Century Moderns: emigres, mavericks and progressives. We will have a private tour which will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday 25th August with entry fees at the concession price of $12 per person. This can be paid on the day. We will meet inside the front door at the ticket box. Email Thelma Harvey asap at burnspaintpres@gmail.com if you would like to attend so that we can advise the Carrick Hill organisers know how many to expect. Also, we plan to book a table in the marquee for lunch afterwards and hope you can stay for that. Again, please let Thelma know if you would like to join us.
The works, many of which are rarely seen, have been borrowed from AGSA and from private collections and include paintings and prints by 25 Adelaide artists, including John Baily, Syd Ball, Charles Bannon, Robert Boynes, David Dallwitz, Barbara Hanrahan, Jacqueline Hick, and other well known names. These artists were making their mark on the art scene at the time when our painting group was established.
