“Sparkles” – Our End of Year Social Night
Wear your Christmas “sparkles” and bring-a-plate to our last Social Night for 2022. Members’ partners or a friend are welcome to come along too.
Our guest speaker for the evening is Lise Temple. In 2003 Lisa left the distractions of city living in the East to settle into dedicated art-making in rural South Australia. Her practice has been highly influenced by the physical environment of the SA Mid North. Initially she was moved by the vivid colours and atmospheric light. The broad views of its wide valleys lead her to develop a collage approach to representing landscape which has become a method of working that addresses time and movement in relation to place. She also uses a similar methodology to examine built environments and interior spaces.
Lise’s talk will be followed by supper, music and fun!
Please advise Thelma Harvey if you intend to join us to assist with catering. harveyat059@gmail.com

Additional information
Approximately 40 people attended our end-of-year event on Wednesday 30 November 2022. It was good to see many wearing some sparkles, adding a fun touch to the festivities. Guest speaker, accomplished artist Lise Temple, showed many stunning slides of her work and gave us insight into the development of her painting career, talking about how she sets up her palette and the use of technology in developing up her work. She also discussed how she markets her work, including the use of social media. Afterwards, guests mingled and enjoyed the plentiful supper. Thanks to all who contributed, with special thanks to Thelma Harvey for organising this thoroughly enjoyable event. 😊
