Course description and aims. Abstract Art with Joe Felber
This year Joe will be selecting several abstract painters who have been pivotal in moving abstract art in the last 100 years. He will start by discussing the Impressionists, followed by Cubism and Fauvism – Picasso and Matisse. Finally leading into geometric abstraction with Piet Mondrian and the De Stijl movement. The student will then go ahead with their own image, to discover their own unique and meaningful expression, with personal mentorship from Joe.
“I often hear students say that they cannot paint. Teaching on a one to one basis allows the student to grow in confidence and develop their own unique visual style. In my ten years of teaching art in art colleges, I have found that there is no one who cannot find a new belief in their ability to draw and paint.”
